PromptGuard vs Amazon Bedrock Guardrails
Bedrock Guardrails is already in the console if you are on Bedrock, and for a single-cloud application that is a real advantage — there is nothing to add and nothing to integrate. The question is what happens when the application stops being single-cloud, or when the model you want is not one Bedrock serves.
We wrote this, so read it accordingly. Everything in the Amazon Bedrock Guardrails column was taken from their own public material on 11 August 2026 and is linked at the bottom. Where their site does not state something we say that, rather than claiming they cannot do it. Our own figures are the same ones the rest of this site renders, from the same constants.

Choose Amazon Bedrock Guardrails when
- Your application is entirely on Bedrock, is expected to stay there, and you would rather have one vendor and one bill.
- You want content filtering and denied topics configured in the same console as the model, with no extra integration work at all.
- Consolidated AWS billing and existing AWS procurement matter more than portability.
Choose PromptGuard when
- You call more than one provider. We sit in front of OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Azure, Bedrock, Mistral, Cohere and others behind one policy, so switching models does not mean rewriting your controls.
- You need the controls to run outside a hyperscaler — in your own VPC or air-gapped.
- You want a published benchmark for the detection itself rather than a feature list.
